GREAT COMIC BOOK ARTIST ERNIE COLON ENLIGHTENS US !!!

In his early days, Ernie Colon worked on the long running Casper & Richie Rich (uncredited) series. Imagine that, given where he went to from there in comic book artwork portfolio.

My favorite comic book artwork of his was from the The 911 Commission Report book, Arak, Son of Thunder & the classic Warren magazines Vampirella, Creepy & Eerie

Ernie went on to work as an editor at DC comics on Arion, Flash, Green Lantern & Wonder Woman. He worked on the DC Sampler, Arak (with Roy Thomas) & Amethyst, Princess of Gemworld

Colon also drew all three issues of Grim Ghost for Atlas Comics.

Ernie provided artwork on Solar, Man of the Atom for Gold Key and later on Magnus, Robot Fighter for Valiant Comics.

For Marvel, Colon drew both Damage Control mini-series, Battlestar Galactica Super Special, Dreadstar 1/2 (taking over from Jim Starlin, big shoes to fill) Doom 2099 & Epic Illustrated (on #1 with a fantastic Frank Frazetta cover.)

Ernie Colan's comic book artwork was always the best. I don't know a period in his career in which his art was anything but great.

Check it out.

Live Large.

Thank you.
